In January, US Law Shield of Pennsylvania sued the City of Harrisburg over its illegal gun laws. The very first lawsuit filed under Act 192 in Pennsylvania. Simply put, we (the PennLAGOs) just keep winning.
In yet another desperate and ill-advised waste of taxpayer money and yet another massive waste of time in a quixotic quest to delay further court proceedings, the City leadership through their attorneys filed yet another motion to stay (suspend) the trial court proceedings, but this time they filed with the Commonwealth Court. Judge Dowling already denied their their application for a stay. You can read their latest efforts to avoid following the law here: 5-11-15 Application for Stay Trial Court Proceedings to the Commonwealth Court
In nearly record breaking time and even without a response from USLS of PA (we were nearly done drafting our response when we got the order minutes ago), the Commonwealth Court on its own issued an order denying their request to stall. You can read the order here: 5-14-2015 Cmwlth Order Denying Application for Stay
It is not an exaggeration to say that throughout this legal battle, the City leadership, its solicitor, and its attorneys have little to nothing to show for all of this money. They just simply keep losing in their effort to uphold their illegal gun ordinances.
Why won’t they just give in and give up?
I can only guess that the City must just like hearing the word “Denied.”
We’ll keep on fighting for you.
